Kimye Delivers Baby Girl
Time for Jay-Z and Beyonce to start scheduling those play dates.
Early Saturday morning, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were admitted to Cedars Sinai (and their rumored birthing suite) to deliver their baby girl. And now, per TMZ, we can confirm that the spawn of Yeezy and Kim K has entered the world. Word is that the baby was delivered naturally and 5 weeks early.
True to form, details surrounding the pregnancy, and now birth, have been nil. Well, that is unless you watch Keeping Up With The Kardashians. That was where they announced the sex of their child. Just remember, everything is for press and ratings. I’m sure they’ll also keep as much information private as they can until they can debut the birth in an E! Television special, sure to be a two night event at least 2 hours in length.
I’m wondering how we are all supposed to feel about this. If we are to believe that they started their relationship in April of 2012 and their baby’s due date was somewhere in the middle of July, that would put their conception sometime in October, after about 7 months of dating. If these weren’t celebrities, wouldn’t they be getting the worst side-eye ever? And since they are such high-profile names, what kind of example are they setting?
That’s not to say that they have been the prototypes for model behavior in their careers, but really? She was just married. And from there you get knocked up by someone else in less than a year? Then you get the glam birthing experience? Sensationalize the whole experience and then let it play out again on your reality TV show.
At its heart, there is something pretty disgusting about it all. Where do you draw the line between life and entertainment? Where does reality end and fantasy begin? In Kim’s life, it seems like they all comingle. Everything is fabulous and subject to editing from producers. And that is a dangerous image to send out into the world.
But for now, let’s just congratulate the happy couple. Good luck with parenting a child in the glass house you live in. You and your daughter are going to need it.
What are your feelings about the new arrival? Have a message to say to the happy family? Share your thoughts in the comments section below!
