Sneak Peek At Marvel’s ‘Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur’
If you haven’t heard of Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur yet, it is the next step in a series of bold steps from Marvel in revolutionizing and diversifying the comics landscape. It is also symptomatic of why Marvel stays winning. Where else are you going to read a comic about a pre-teen genius black girl who teams up with a dinosaur to save the world?
She’s got kinky hair, glasses, and the goal of changing the world. But an interview over at Marvel.com reveals that our burgeoning heroine also has a much more personal stake in this book: she is scared of the physical change that a gene she carries might bring about. Think of this series as a new age X-Men, taking he elements of what has made the X-Men line of comics so groundbreaking and reinventing them for the present. If done right, it will be able to speak directly to black girls, nerds, and youth staring down puberty and he unique obstacles faced with the prospect of changing and begin different.
Get excited people.
