#BlerdTV You Should Be Watching This Fall

#blerdtv-kerry-washington-olivia-popeHey Blerds! The Fall TV season is fast approaching, and the sheer volume of new and returning shows can be a lot to manage. Lucky for you, we’ve assembled a premiere calendar that captures everything from the comic book based, to the supernatural, to ethnic comedies and reality TV experiments for easy DVR programming.

Television has become much more blerd-friendly. Taking into account the returning shows, there are now 6 shows that are inspired by comic books. Sitcoms black-ish and Cristela look to broaden the ethnic landscape on TV. And supernatural dramas Sleepy Hollow and Grimm will continue to both gross and freak us out. All of these shows hit that intelligent, nerdy, and innovative blerd sweet spot.

My top new shows for this fall are CBS’s Scorpion, NBC’s Constantine, and ABC’s black-ish. From the smart to the supernatural to the funny, each is a prime example of how varied the network slates are becoming.

Scorpion follows a group of geniuses, each with their own specialties, as they work together to solve the threats only they are equipped for.

Constantine follows John Constantine from the wildly popular Hellblazer comic book series as he tangles with occult forces that threaten the world. The catch? His soul is already damned to hell, he doesn’t have much to lose.

black-ish is the black family sitcom that has been missing from television. Just like the legendary Cosby Show, black-ish follows a well-to-do black family – this time in Los Angeles – as they try to maintain their ethnic identity. The content of the show is all too real, and real situations make for the best comedy.

But there is much more for us blerds to watch this fall. Check out the calendar below, and click the image for an enlarged and  printable view.
