‘The Leftovers’ Season 2 Trailer: “There Are No Miracles in Miracle”

the-leftovers-season-2-another-disappearance-and-patti-s-returnWe were huge fans of season 1 of HBO’s, trippy, haunting, and hopelessly dark series The Leftovers. And moving into season 2, it looks like they have turned up the crazy.

The just released trailer shows the Garveys looking to get a fresh start in a new town. Not a bad idea with all on the nonsense they dealt with in the past season and the ever-present reminders of all that they have lost. And the new home they decide upon is Miracle, TX, the only town in the world not to lose anybody during “The Sudden Departure” in which 140 million people all over the world mysteriously vanished.

Life looks to be better for the troubled family. But it seems the mess from Mapleton followed them, as the trailer below depicts. Regina King joins the cast as the matriarch of the Murphy family, neighbors and fast friends for the Garveys, as disappearances within the town raise tensions. And don’t think we’re done with the Guilty Remnant or the residents of Mapleton, NY either. Garvey’s ex-wife, ex-stepson, and and the rest of the Remnant are clearly still active. What foul play could they be engaging in now?

So many (more) unanswered questions crop up in this peek at the series. Tune in to the season 2 premiere October 4 at 9/8c on HBO.

Cast regulars for Season 2 include Justin Theroux, Amy Brenneman, Christopher Eccleston, Liv Tyler, Carrie Coon, Ann Dowd, Margaret Qualley, Chris Zylka, Regina King, Kevin Carroll, and Janel Moloney. The Leftovers was created by Damon Lindelof and Tom Perrotta.
